We are fundraising to positively impact communities in the Bahamas!

Educational Efforts

Lend a Hand Bahamas was founded to bring more activities and opportunities to socio-economically disadvantaged areas of the Bahamas. Currently, we are planning and implementing new programs and projects in certain areas of the Bahamas with the long-term goals of connecting with others to offer a collaborative approach towards solving problems especially in more urban areas of the country. Due to COVID-19, our programs were slowed, but we are now continuing to support 20-25 children weekly with devices, internet, food, and most importantly a safe space that is conducive to learning. In addition, through our network Over-the-Hill we continue to identify youth in need of proper devices and internet to provide them. In 2021, we will be launching new entrepreneurial efforts in downtown Nassau focused on sewing, aquaponics, and other workforce training.

Food Security Fund
Since March 2020, Lend a Hand Bahamas has been supporting thousands of people impacted by COVID-19 and its economic fallout in Nassau. We started out supporting hundreds with weekly food assistance and then from June - November we steadily increased our support to service 50,000+ individuals with weekly food assistance as part of the National Food Distribution Task Force. Our zone was the dense area of downtown Nassau and we also served as a secondary supporter for Adelaide Village, Gambier Village, and Mt. Pleasant during this whole time. From November 1 - December 31, we are participating in Phase 2 of the Task Force's plan and have reduced the number of households we are able to serve down to less than 4,000 households. In the New Year, we are entering the next large scale phase of the feeding effort to support between 4,000-5,000 families.
